Indiana Flight 16U GUAA

We recently had the opportunity to take in the workout of one of Indiana’s top 2022 squads, loaded with talent, the Indiana Flight’s 16U Under Armour circuit team. The team is a combination of a core of prospects that played under the Showcase club last season, which includes top twenty combo guard Kenna Kirby (#19), Makayla Hinshaw, Abigail Parker, Ella Wolfe, and RaMaya Milton along with talent from several other teams. Rayah Kincer (#16), another top twenty prospect, formerly of the Gym Rats and Washington high school  prospects Alaina Thorne and Kencia Levassuer.  Talented forward  Jozee Rhodes and 6’1 center  Ally Madden, who was added from the 17U UAA team that will not be playing this July, are the muscle up front. This squad needs to be on your must see list this July as they feature players that are being recruited at every level , balanced across the lineup and nine top 100 prospects.

Rayah Kincer  5’10  CG  Franklin Central – Ryah is our top ranked prospect on the squad. She brings a combination of size, strength and skill from the backcourt. She can handle, attack from the backcourt, shows a good stroke out to the 3 point line with a nice mid-range game and punishers smaller match-ups on her downhill drive.  Strong frame, versatile skill set, and willing to battle on both ends. One of the top guards in her class.

Kenna Kirby 5’9 SG Tri-West – Kenna is a skilled top 20 prospect that shows versatility in her game from the backcourt. She can score it in bunches at all levels, and has a great motor on both ends. Her game has a nice balance off finesse and physicality. She has the skill to get into open space and knock down jumps and also attacks the rim and second line defenders where she will take on contact and finish. A competitor with a high level skill set makes her a tough match-up for most.

Jozee Rhodes 6’0 F Plainfield – Jozee has been among are favorite frontliners in the class for sometime. She is physical, strong, and shows a good deal of skill around the basket. She has the ball skills to put together an attack from the mid or high post and the footwork and touch to finish. Her mobility and confidence looks to be back after recovering from a knee injury that ended her freshman season about half way through. She can also shot the 3 pointer off the catch when setup, in fact her shooting during the workout drills stood out.  If she can consistently combine that stretch game with her work at the basket she will be a very difficult matchup.

Makayla Hineshaw 5’7 G HSE – Makayla is a solid athlete with quick feet and hands and when you pair that with her elite motor she is a lock down defender. She will harass her matchup baseline to baseline making them earn every inch. She shows the ability to handle as a primary with an improving handle and an explosive step. Displays ability to attack and get into lane to setup opportunities for herself and teammates. An improving jumper and confidence on the offensive end will go a long way in rounding out her game on the offensive end.

Abigail Parker 5’9 G Tipton – Abigail is a skilled guard, sneaky athletic, and shows versatility in her game. When she is playing at her highest level she can shine and be one of the most difficult matchups on the floor. Has a good feel for the action on both ends, can get buckets in a variety of ways, and can get her own shots. She rebounds it at a good clip from the backcourt as well. As she smooths out her consistency and continues to build her game from the backcourt she has a lot of upside.

Ella Wolfe 5’6 G Tipton – Ella has always shown as a good athlete that can defend and will play with energy on both ends. As her offensive skills have started to come together, a big jump in production her sophomore season, her value will start to blossom.  She shows a good handle, is on the attack and can get to shots going to the basket with her athleticism. She will need to continue to add consistency as a jump shooter to better exploit her quickness and playmaking ability off of the bounce. Sees the court and sets up her teammates while on the move. July should be a big month for Ella as she makes her mark among the elite PG in the class.

Ally Madden 6’1 C Blue River Valley – Ally was slated to play with the Flight 17U UAA team but after several of those 2021 committed and the team shutdown for the summer she found a home with the 16U UAA. Ally is more of a traditional post and has a long strong frame and goes to work on the low post most possessions.  She shows good hands, improving feet and fairly good touch at the rim. She is working hard to improve her face-up game, which is the next evolution in her game. She rebounds her area and defensively will fight for position, body up, play physical and can protect the rim with her length, reach and movement. Playing at this level will go a long way in developing her into one of the top frontliners in the class.

RaMaya Milton 5’8 W Brownsburg –  RaMaya is a bulldog with the ball. She gets downhill and she will play physical on her way to the rim. She attacks from the mid to high post, fairly agile and shows nice touch on her finishes. As an undersized forward she is working to expand and grow her game away from the basket. She rebounds her area with strength and can defend a few different spot with her physical tools. Aggressive game, good energy, and developing skill set.

Alaina Thorne 5’10 F Washington –  Wasn’t present at workout. Alaina is a very intriguing prospect. She is long and athletic with pedigree. Our first live view was at regionals and we liked what the lefty brought with her athleticism going to the basket. She has a lot of the physical tools, she will just need to continue her skill set development away from the basket. We also got the opportunity to see her again in the first club event of the year, prior to the shutdown, and she showed she had the ability to fit in among the elite. July could be an opportunity that propels Alaina into the next level of the 2022 class.

Kencia Levassuer 5’6 W Washington – Wasn’t present at workout. We haven’t seen Kencia as much as some of the other prospects, only on two occasions, but really liked the physicality and energy she brought to both ends of the floor. She really got down hill on her drives and punished her defenders with her strong frame. A bit of a tweener but efficient with the ball and productive. Continuing to develop her backcourt game and stretching her shooting out to the 3 point line will add value. Looking forward to seeing how her game grows.

The Indiana Flight 16U GUAA team will be playing at both the USJN and Hoosier Heat events in Indianapolis in early July. Make sure they are on your viewing schedule in July.
