AIS welcomed forty prospects in the 2029 sophomore class. That included half of the IGBRR Top 20 Watchlist, and nearly half of the ranked Top 50. They were stellar from start to finish putting eight players on the AIS All-Showcase team. Below is a review of fifteen that received multiple votes from coaches.

 

Ella Boyanski   2029 / 5’9 / CG / Chesterton
Ella was an invite at AIS as a frosh last year and not surprisingly went on to have a very productive freshman season for 4A Chesterton over the winter averaging double figures. She did not play club in the spring, so it was nice to get her in the gym for the showcase. She was impressive with her combination of length, athleticism and backcourt skill that gives her nice versatility on both ends of the floor. She can handle as needed, is a matchup issue with her long strong frame, agility and playmaking tools. She was only one of four players to put up multiple 20+ point games. After not seeing her live for nearly a year she came into AIS and re-confirmed that she is a high potential prospect in the class that we currently have in our top 30 class watchlist.

 

Lillian Clark   2029 / 5’9 / SG / Westfield 
After having tremendous showing at Futures and Prospect camps last year, Lillian had a monster breakout season for the Rock’s in her freshman season and the went on to play high level EYBL club ball this spring/summer as well. She has nice length to her frame, is athletic in all aspects of her game and is one of the top bucket getters in the class. She can score it at all levels in a variety of ways, create her own shoots and has a smooth confident approach with her offensive toolset. The top 10 (2029) sophomore prospect was named to the AIS All-Showcase team by the coaches.

 

Lilly Coleman   2029 / 6’2 / C / Danville
We saw Lilly several times over the club season and noted her play. She has a big strong post frame and does a nice job of owning her area with the ability to bury her opponents on the block. She has soft hands, nice feet, and solid touch around the basket. She will even step out and shoot the three where she hit a few Sunday. She rebounds her area with her size and reach and has the mobility defensively to rotate and help protect the paint. The top 50 (2029) sophomore prospect was among the most productive frontliner prospects at the showcase.

 

Ava Emberton   2029 / 5’7 / CG / Brownsburg 
Ava was the talk of the showcase with her athletic skilled high motor play from start to finish. She led all scorers with three 20+ point games, including a showcase high 34-point performance.  She repeatedly got to the basket showing a crafty handle, quick step and skilled backcourt play. Overall, balance between her attack and jumpers while also displaying nice instincts and court vision while on the move. We have really liked Ava in our views over the last year, always plays with big energy, and she is ranked in our top 40 prospects in the class but her performance at AIS was a whole different level. She was unanimously named to the AIS All-Showcase team.

 

Malyiah Evans   2029 / 6’0 / SG / North Central
Malyiah already has several D1 offers going into her sophomore season as one of the most versatile prospects in the class. She is long, has wingspan, is athletic and fluid in all aspects of her game. She can get buckets at all levels and is a tough matchup with her combination of length, athleticism and backcourt skills, as she showed with a 28-point AIS game. She can grab boards against forwards and is disruptive on the defensive end with her length and agility. She was part of the varsity rotation at 4A Pike last year and transferred to North Central this season where she should have a breakout season for the Panthers. She was voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the coaches and currently is the IGBRR #6 prospect in the class.

 

Journey Frederick   2029 /  5’7 / PG / Franklin
Our first extended view of Journey was at PGH showcase last fall and was able to see her several more times over the winter where she was part of the Franklin varsity rotation as a frosh. We again noted her this spring in club ball. Her athleticism on both ends jumps out at you, she handles the ball as a lead and is shifty and explosive on the move while mixing it up well between her jumpers and attacks. Plays with poise, confidence and solid instincts. As she continues to get stronger, she has a good deal of upside as an athletic playmaking guard in the class.

 

Harvest Green   2029 / 5’9 / SG / Bishop Luers
Harvest has a strong guard frame, shows nice athleticism in all parts of her game and is confident and skilled with the ball. She is physical on the attack and is agile and athletic finisher that gets to the free throw line, also a capable shooter out to the three-point line with the ability to create space and shots. Rebounds from the guard spot and active instinctual defender She had a big freshman season for Luers averaging nearly 17 PPG and 7.5 RPG, currently ranked as a top 20 prospect in the class.

 

Mia Hibbard   2029 / 5’10 / SF / ECA
We haven’t seen Mia in extended views as much as some of the other top talent but really like her upside and was happy to get her in the gym for the day. She did not disappoint and was very productive throughout the showcase as noted the staff. She has a long strong forward frame mixed with solid backcourt skills. She is comfortable handling the ball from the wing and in the open court, has nice balance between her jumpers and attacks and is rough matchup for most with her size and skill. She can rebound against forwards, is active and versatile on both ends and put up a 25-point performance. A top 40 prospect in the class with plenty of potential for continued growth.

 

Iyla Kress        2029 / 5’11 / SG / Heritage Hills
Iyla came into prospect camp last fall and just blew us away and she has taken off like a rocket ship ever since. Her high-level athleticism on both ends of the court combined with length and backcourt skills make her a very versatile prospect. A capable shooter out to the three-point line but at her best on the attack using her length and agility to create shots going to the basket. Can go get boards against forwards and can defend several spots with her physical tools. As she continues to add strength to her frame and polish her perimeter skills, she has as much upside as anyone in the class. She was voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the coaches with her consistent productive play. Currently a top 15 prospect in the class, with the tools to make even more noise.

 

Carlie  Kuebler   2029 / 5’9 / SG / Boonville 
Saw Carlie putting up big freshman numbers this past winter in the box scores and finally got to see her in early spring club play and several more times since. She has nice length with a strong guard frame, is a solid athlete with a balanced backcourt skillset. She can handle the ball as needed, has a solid mid-range game with a nice stroke that extends to the three-point line and has the strength and agility to make plays and get to the free throw line going to the basket. With the graduation of Parker, she will be leaned on for increased production this coming season and most likely a big sophomore season loading.

 

Savayah Mitchell   2029 / 5’8 / PG / Pike
Not surprisingly Savayah was one of the top prospects in the gym throughout the event, the sophomore is currently ranked as the #2 prospect in the class. She has nice length, elite level athleticism in all aspects of her game and is one of the top lead guards regardless of class. She is smooth and poised with the ball, a capable shooter out to the three-point line but at her best on the attack using her playmaking athleticism and skill to create shots and get to the free throw line on her way to the bucket. She was the second leading scorer as a frosh on one of the state’s top 4A teams and with transfer and injury she will be leaned on even more this coming season. She was voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the event coaches.

 

Avery Paridaen   2029 / 5’10 / PF / Gibson Southern
We saw Avery a couple times over the winter where she had a productive freshman season for the Titans and again several times this spring/summer in club play. Glad we were able to have her at AIS where she proved herself against the elite in her class and others, which included a 30-point performance. She has a long strong forward frame, is a solid athlete and shows a good deal of versatility in her game. She has some physicality at the basket with nice touch and agility, is comfortable with the ball from the wing and can make athlete attacks out of the mid-post. Rebounds against forwards and can defend a few different spots with her size and mobility. She was voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the event coaches.

 

Riley Suarez   2029 / 6’2 / SF / Hamilton Heights
Riley has that rare combination of a long strong forward frame, solid athleticism with a backcourt skillset. She can get buckets from all levels in a variety of ways which includes a deadly mid-post turnaround jumper and the ability to stretch it out to the three-point line. She is comfortable handling the ball, is a tough matchup with her size and skill and is quite versatile on both ends. The IGBRR #3 prospect in the class had games of 22 and 21 while being voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the event coaches.

 

Lillia Tapak    2029 / 5’9 / PG / Center Grove
Lillia took over the reins as the lead guard for 4A powerhouse Trojans as a freshman that ended with a state championship, which says volumes about her game. As expected, she is a high IQ player that is poised and calculated with the ball that can be trusted to make the right read/decision. Balanced between setting up teammates and finding her own shots. Add in her nice length from the guard spot, athleticism, and solid motor and she is as a complete PG in the class as there is. Top 15 IGBRR class prospect that was voted to the AIS All-Showcase team by the event coaches.

 

Journey Washington   2029 / 5’9 / SG / Franklin Central
Journey carved out a productive role this past season as frosh on a talented veteran Flashes squad. She has nice combination of length, athleticism and backcourt skill this gives her a good deal of versatility on both ends of the floor. Balanced with ability to shoot the jumper and playmaking skills on the attack with the tools to create shoots and score it in a variety of ways.  As she continues to polish her backcourt skillset, she has the tools to be a very productive and highly sought after prospect in the class.  

 

McKenzie White   2029 / 6’0 / C / FW Snider 
McKenzie has a big strong post frame and combine that with her agility and touch around the bucket, and she is a super productive frontline prospect. She can bury her opponents on the block with her strength, knows how to use her frame to create space and displays skilled play. She rebounds her area with a nose for the ball and stays active and effective on both ends of the floor while playing with nice energy. A top 20 prospect in the class that showed as one of the top post prospects on the day.
