2019-20 Lawrence North vs Noblesville Recap & Photo Gallery

State Runner-up, who received their rings during  a pregame ceremony, and IGBRR preseason 4A #1 shook off a slow start, trailing 12-15 after one quarter of play, and outscored the Noblesville Millers by 26 over the next three frames on their way to a 62-39 opening night win. The Wildcats were paced by junior all-star candidate Jayla Smith who tallied 23 points, which included 3 triples. Teammates and Indiana All-Star candidates Kristian Young (Illinois-Chicago commit) finished with 14, while Katie Davidson (Miami, OH commit) contributed 11 points. The Wildcats future star freshman Monica Williams, 6 points, started for the Wildcats and displayed her promise throughout the contest.

The story within the story was the debut of Noblesville freshman sensation Ashlynn Shade, who already has multiple high D1 offers. She did not disappoint finishing with a game high 26 points for the Millers. A 26 point debut output would be impressive by any standard but considering it happen on the road against arguably the state’s top team that featured no less than four division one prospects in their starting lineup speaks volumes to this young lady’s future. Junior forward Emily Wood made contributions on both ends, including 6 points.

Lawrence North (1-0) will travel to take on Anderson (0-1) Saturday afternoon. The Millers (0-1) will host their home opener Saturday night against Fort Wayne Snider (0-0).

Lawrence North: Smith 23, Young 14, Davidson 11, Williams 6, Hughes 5, Early 2, Ervin 1,
Noblesville: Shade 26, Wood 6, Miller 3, Kiser 2, Mendez 2
