2019-20 Mooresville vs BNL Recap & Photo Gallery

In a tight contest throughout the host Mooresville Pioneers, who trailed by 4 going into the final quarter, used a 11 point fourth quarter run to take the lead with 3 minutes to go and stretched it out to 8 before closing out a 55-50 win. BNL junior sharp shooter Chloe McKnight got the Stars out to an early lead with 9 first half points on three triples, finishing with 15 points on the afternoon. BNL led after one 12-11 and at the break 24-21. Sophomore point guard Madelynn Denny would assert herself offensively in the second half, scoring 16 of her game high 19 points in the half, which included back and forth leads in the third. Denny, with 9 points in the fourth quarter, and senior teammate Paige Gregory (IU East commit) with a balanced 16 points, would be the catalyst for the late run and home win over the BNL Stars. Junior forward Addi Shafer was active throughout and added 8 points, while sophomore guard Allison Graber had a solid showing for the home team and contributed 7. Mooresville would dominate the glass, including 16 offensive boards.The Stars were paced by their 6’3 frontcourt senior Madison Webb (SIE commit) who had eight in each half for a team high 16 points and freshman Karsyn Norman started and added 4 points in her high school debut.

The Pioneers (2-0) will travel to Ben Davis (0-2) on Tuesday, while the Stars (0-1) will regroup and play their home opener against 1A state runner-up Vincennes Rivet (1-0) on Tuesday.
