Mariah has been among that top post prospects in her class since she hit the floor as a freshman, starting and producing 10PPG & 8 RPG that season. However, she suffered a knee injury that summer during club basketball that derailed much of her sophomore campaign, not returning until near mid season with limited minutes. She started to round back into form this past summer with her physical skilled play on the club circuit and at the All-Indiana Showcase. She did miss the beginning of her junior season from an injury cleanup procedure but it didn’t take her long to find her game as she was selected to the Niehaus All Tourney team after averaging a double-double. Mariah has always been a handful at the basket with her strong college ready frame, aggressive play in the paint and her agility with the ball at the rim. She runs the floor well, plays with a good motor and punishes defenders with her strength. She is comfortable with the ball away from the basket whether she is moving the ball on the perimeter or operating out of the pick and roll. She has good instincts to the ball off of the rim and she owns her space. Defensively she is capable of blocking and changing shots with her athleticism and uses her strong frame to make it difficult to get off quality shots against her. Her physical tools along with her her touch, ability to play through contact, and low post skill set put her among the elite front court talent in her class. Mariah should be on course for a big senior season.
